About Tacoma Area Youth for Christ
Tacoma Area Youth for Christ is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of underserved youth in Tacoma and the greater Pierce County. Serving more than 1,600 youth annually across 13 sites, TYFC on 1:1 and group youth mentorship, teen-parent support, and on-campus programming, while building lifelong relationships rooted in faith, trust, and hope.
Position Purpose:
As TYFC continues to grow its impact, we are seeking a Development Director who will help build the partnerships and resources that make this life-changing ministry possible. In this role, the Development Director partners closely with the Executive Director to lead TYFC's fundraising strategy and ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the ministry. This role oversees major donor relationships, grants, fundraising events, and the development team, while fostering a culture of biblical stewardship.
What You'll Do:
- Lead TYFC's fundraising strategy and annual development plan
- Cultivate and steward major donors and partners
- Plan and oversee fundraising events, and donor engagement initiatives
- Pursue grant opportunities aligned with the mission and vision of TYFC
- Lead the Development Team with Christ-centered leadership and faithful stewardship.
- Use fundraising data and Salesforce to strengthen donor relationships and drive results
- Partner with the Executive Director to advance TYFC's mission and fundraising goals

Required Skills & Experience:
- Five or more years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience
- Demonstrated success in major gifts, grants, fundraising events, and donor stewardship
- Experience developing and executing fundraising strategies that produce measurable results
- Strong community networking and relationship-building skills
- Experience managing donor CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and fundraising data
- Strong project management skills, including grant process management and event planning
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in youth ministry or a faith-based nonprofit
- Established relationships within the South Sound philanthropic community

Pay: $93,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
