The Seasonal Snowsports School Supervisor supports the planning, supervision, coordination, and evaluation of daily operations at the Snowsports School. Reporting to the Director of Education, this role collaborates with senior departmental leadership to develop and execute company-wide initiatives. The Supervisor ensures the success of Hilltop and the Snowsports School by overseeing daily operations, supporting innovative program development, assisting with strategic planning, and fostering staff growth and retention.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Program Development & Guest Experience

  • Assist in creating and improving lesson programs, workshops, and special events.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service by promoting the “Hilltop Story” experience.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of teaching methods and ski/snowboard techniques.

Staff Leadership & Training

  • Assist in supervising 50–80 instructors, including recruiting, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Foster a positive, supportive work environment to improve retention and loyalty.
  • Lead and contribute to instructor training sessions and professional development.
  • Support staff on-hill by checking classes, assisting instructors, and resolving issues.

Operations & Administration

  • Oversee daily operations such as guest check-in, class assignments, lesson tracking, and facility upkeep.
  • Maintain and update booking/scheduling software and departmental records.
  • Respond professionally to guest and staff inquiries, complaints, and concerns.
  • Support financial and personnel management procedures within the Snowsports School.
  • Assist with hill operations, including area setup, race setup, and race support.

Instruction

  • Teach group and private ski/snowboard lessons as needed.
  • Ensure safe use of equipment and proper instruction for all age groups and ability levels.

Leadership & Culture

  • Promote a culture of guest service, teamwork, innovation, and fun.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, safety awareness, and commitment to a positive workplace.
  • Actively contribute ideas for improving efficiency and the guest/employee experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Education, or Management (preferred).
  • PSIA/AASI Level II or higher certification (preferred).
  • 3 years of ski/ride instruction or education experience.
  • Strong ski/ride teaching, technical, and communication skills.
  • Experience creating and leading training programs for diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling/booking software.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing educational or recreational programs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This position splits time evenly between being outside on the mountain using ski equipment and around the base area, and inside within the Ski & Ride School facilities and offices. Requires the ability to ski/ride for extended periods of time. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. 

Salary : $23 - $29
