Afterschool Direct Service Staff Job Description
Responsibilities: Plan and deliver after-school activities, Provides daily supervision of students
Facilitates after-school activities during school year
- Works during summer program June 20th - August 5th,
- Provide Homework Help for students in after-school program
- Follows and creates lesson plans for activities
- Supervises and monitors students during lessons and during field trips
- Engage Students and Families in activities provided
- Attend staff meetings
- Stays until last child has been picked up
- Participate in family nights
- Will support lead staff in the daily operation of program
- Implement Methods trainings to improve program
- Other duties as assigned by lead staff or director
- Is directly supervised by Program Director
- Demonstrate knowledge of school and district policies and procedures, as well as the policies and procedures of Link
- Demonstrates an understanding of the concerns expressed by the student, parents, teachers, and others, and demonstrates an understanding of cultural influence

Duties
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing educational programs related to Indian history, language, and culture.
- Support the development of curriculum materials and resources for various age groups and community events.
- Collaborate with educators, community leaders, and volunteers to ensure program success.
- Facilitate workshops, cultural celebrations, and informational sessions that promote awareness and appreciation of Indian heritage.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, participant attendance, and feedback for continuous improvement.
- Work with Afterschool program staff to integrate Indian Education activities into the afterschool activities
- Promote program participation through outreach efforts within local communities events and educational institutions.
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety guidelines and organizational standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in educational settings or community programs is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences effectively.
- Passion for Indian culture and history, with a proactive approach to community engagement a plus.
- Must have strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, Developing newsletters and flyers.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently. Both positions Hours/Schedule
- Average of 35 hours per week when school is in session. Position follows Kelso School District Calendar. Monday and Wednesday 9-1 at High school or office; Tuesday and Thursday office hours from 10-1 pm in Longview, then 3:00 -5:30 at school for after school program (some evenings required) Hours will vary depending on need. But will be 25 hours per week for both sections of program. Summer program from June 22nd - August 5th; from 7:30 -3 pm Monday - Thursday at an offsite camp location. Transportation for camp will be provided by school bus.

- Some overnight travel for Trainings out of Town

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma Must Have
- 21 years if Age
- Pass a federal background clearance
- Washington State driver’s license and reliable car for transportation with Current Vehicle Insurance
- Computer Literate/ Office 365
Preferred Qualifications
- AA Degree or college experience in education or social science
- Two years’ experience working with children and families
- Education and or school experience
Salary and Benefits
- $19.00 per hour starting wage based on experience or education.
