General Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the School Success Director, the REACH Program Site Assistant will share logistic responsibilities at the school including student recruitment, activity scheduling, volunteer recruitment, record keeping and recording, supervision of students, assisting with volunteers, and all other aspects of the program.

Assignment:
The person in this role will be hired as a temporary employee. We are recruiting for three Site Assistants for Naselle-Grays River Valley School District (grades K-12) and two Site Assistants for Wahkiakum School Disitrict (grades K-12)The anticipated work schedule will be up to 14 hours per week during the regular school year (before/after school programming) and up to 25 hours per week during the four-week summer program. First review of applications will be January 6, 2026

Essential Functions/Other Functions

Essential Functions:
  1. Assist in recruitment and retention of students.
  2. Support the curriculum as directed by the Site Coordinator.
  3. Assist with training volunteers.
  4. Be a liaison between the regular school staff and the REACH program as needed.
  5. Assist Site Coordinator with collection and evaluation of relevant data, state assessment, and other assessment for project planning and evaluation.
  6. Work with Site Coordinator to develop projects, special events, and family activities as described in the grant.
  7. Participate in program staff meetings including those with the local Advisory Council at least three times annually.
  8. Assist with program records and project reports.
  9. Supervise students.
  10. Collect data and report student progress.
  11. Maintain accurate data collection records.
  12. Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, workshops and seminars.
Other Functions:
  1. Other duties as assigned.
 

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. At least 18 years of age.
  2. A High School Diploma or GED.
  3. Must meet one of the following educational requirements:
    • Associate's Degree (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date); OR
    • 48 sem./72 quarter credits from an accredited college or university (note: if offered a position, official transcripts are required prior to start date); OR
    • Passing score of 455 on the ParaPro Assessment; OR
    • Passing score of 220 on the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment; OR
    • 65% on The Master Teacher, Inc. Paraeducator Online Training Program.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Three to five years school-based experience working with students, staff, administrators, and parents.
  2. Experience working with at-risk children.
  3. Experience in tutoring/assisting with instruction in reading and mathematics.
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Experience creating reports and presentations.

  3. Flexible schedule to include some evenings and Saturdays.
Employment Requirements:
  1. Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
