DESCRIPTION
The Senior Director of HR provides strategic direction, planning, and leadership for YFA’s HR operations. This role oversees all HR disciplines, including recruiting, hiring, employee engagement and retention, employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, and training. The Sr. Director of HR establishes compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, along with long range talent management objectives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for human resources and talent management functions; use data to assess organizational effectiveness and competitiveness.
- Ensure optimization, data integrity, reporting, and workforce analytics from HRIS.
- Establish strong internal relationships across all departments/programs to support YFA leaders optimizing service delivery.
- Develop and implement employee engagement and employee retention strategies to support organizational goals and reduce turnover.
- Oversee daily workflow, processes, and initiatives of Human Resources department.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee performance or engagement matters, disciplinary action, terminations, and any HR related workplace matters.
- Conduct investigations, as appropriate, for employee relations matters including employee workplace or discrimination complaints.
- Research, develop, and implement competitive compensation, benefits, performance evaluations, and incentive programs.
- Ensure compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations and requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR/Talent Management best practices.
- Recruit, hire, and train HR staff.
WHAT YOU NEED
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business-related field
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in Human Resources, with 5 years in a management role
- SHRM or HRCI certification (preferred)
- Non-profit experience (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience with ADP HRIS tools (preferred)
- Preferred knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed principles and practices, including the importance of creating a safe environment, fostering trust, promoting collaboration, and empowering individuals.

Physical Requirements:
- Position may involve extended periods of time on a computer. Requires ability to travel locally and regionally. Ability to lift 30 pounds, bend, stand and sit for extended periods of time.
