As a youth advocate you will play a crucial role in supporting and empowering young individuals as they navigate their way through various challenges, providing guidance, resources, and mentorship to ensure they reach their full potential by creating a safe and inclusive environment where young people can thrive and flourish.
Status: Part-Time Hourly
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part Time position serving youth and families throughout Erie County are available.
- Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school and home settings.
- The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
- Coordinate with families, schools, and services to ensure care
- Conduct outreach and community engagement to build support networks
- All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.
This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay and activity reimbursement.
Hourly Pay Rate $ 18.00
Availability: This is a part time position and hours may vary and may include evenings and weekends.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
- Experience working with at-risk youth and families
- Basic computer knowledge is required; experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance is required.
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) is a plus.
