Role Description The Human Resources Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Hermitage, PA. This position manages day-to-day HR activities, including onboarding, employee record maintenance, and support for personnel changes across the organization. The role involves administering and explaining employee benefits, assisting with HR policy implementation, and helping ensure compliance with FMCSA & employment laws and company standards. The Human Resources Specialist will support managers and team members with HR-related inquiries, coordinate performance review processes, and recruitment activities such as screening candidates and scheduling interviews. The role also includes maintaining HR systems, preparing reports, and contributing to initiatives that promote a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Human Resources (HR) fundamentals and HR Management practices & FMCSA regulations.
- Experience developing, interpreting, and applying HR Policies in a business environment.
- Proficiency in managing Employee Benefits programs and explaining options to team members.
- Hands-on Personnel Management skills, including employee relations and support for supervisors.
- Understanding of employment law and HR compliance requirements, in transportation or logistics.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive information responsibly.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced operational environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience using HRIS or HR-related software; proficiency in common office productivity tools.
- Cerifucations, Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
