Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Personal Lines Agent to evaluate personal insurance portfolios, identify financial and risk exposures, and make strategic coverage and market placement decisions that significantly impact client retention and agency performance. This position serves as a senior advisor to clients to mitigate risk and maximize long-term protection strategies.
The ideal candidate is both analytical and relationship-driven—someone who can identify retention risks, deliver tailored insurance solutions, and reinforce long-term client loyalty.
Daily Responsibilities
Retention Strategy & Client Engagement
· Analyze and own the retention outcomes for an assigned portfolio of personal lines customers.
· Identify at-risk accounts based on premium increases, claims activity, or coverage gaps
· Conduct outreach to clients ahead of renewal to address concerns and reinforce value
· Build strong, trust-based relationships to improve client satisfaction and loyalty
Remarketing & Coverage Optimization
· Evaluate policies for remarketing opportunities due to pricing, carrier changes, or evolving client needs
· Evaluate carrier options and make placement decisions based on underwriting match, pricing strategy, and client risk tolerance
· Analyze policy options and recommend changes that balance coverage, premium, and risk exposure
· Present remarketed options clearly and consultatively, highlighting advantages and trade-offs
Coverage Review & Advisory
· Perform detailed coverage reviews to identify gaps, overlaps, or outdated protections
· Educate clients on coverage options, endorsements, and risk management strategies
· Provide guidance that aligns with client needs, financial considerations, and long-term protection goals
Qualifications
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
· Licensing: Active property and casualty license.
· Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in personal lines insurance (servicing, renewals, or remarketing)
· Experience working with multiple insurance carriers
· Strong understanding of personal lines products (home, auto, renters, umbrella)
· Experience managing retention or renewal books of business
· Demonstrated success improving retention rates
