What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodial position at YOUNG MENS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF SUMTER?
Under the direct supervision of the Custodial Manager and consistent with the Christian mission of the YMCA, the Custodian is responsible for internal and exterior upkeep of all branch property and facilities to ensure quality appearance, cleanliness and function at all times.
Know-How:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year customer service experience.
- Knowledge of custodial care.
- Ability to represent the YMCA in a mature and professional manner.
- Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a team.
- Display a personal commitment to consistent quality customer service & facility care.
Physical Requirement:
- Sight, Hearing, Speaking.
- Standing, Walking, Stooping, Kneeling, Squatting, Climbing, Sitting.
- Lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Pulling a minimum of 100 lbs.
Principle Duties:
- Sweep, mop, dust, clean, vacuum, empty trash, clean restrooms, clean showers, water plants, change light bulbs, and other specific duties to ensure facilities and grounds are maintained at a high quality appearance.
- Run basic cleaning and/or maintenance machines as needed such as: dishwasher, floor polisher, steam cleaner, vacuum, etc.
- Make simple repairs as needed including assisting maintenance and program directors upon request.
- Support & assist leadership as requested.
