Job Summary:
The Mission Nutrition staff exudes energy, warmth, and friendliness as one of the first faces of the YMCA of Saginaw. Position in Corporate Structure:
The Mission Nutrition staff will report to the Mission Nutrition Coordinator and/or the Director of Operation.
Position Summary:
The Mission Nutrition staff has responsibility for daily functions of the Mission Nutrition program, ensuring the optimal environment for safe, quality meals, snacks, and member engagement opportunities. This position may require early morning hours, evening and weekend responsibilities.
Essential Functions/Primary Roles and Responsibilities

- Perform food preparation duties.
- Accurately record meals and snacks served.
- Shopping for need supplies as assigned.
- Sorting, loading, and delivering meals as assigned.
- Assist with the maintenance of the serving and prep areas by ensuring they are kept clean and functional.
- Ensures the café is compliant with all FDA and local health department guidelines and standards.
YMCA Competencies:
Demonstrates proficiency in all competencies necessary as defined by the YMCA of the USA Leadership Competency Development Guide.
Qualifications:Essential Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must have prior experience in the food service industry.
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles.
- Attention to detail, ability to both manage projects and meet project deadlines.
ADA Requirements:
Working in a recreational facility setting requires standing, sitting, and walking. Position requires lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching above the shoulders, bending at the waist, climbing stairs, squatting, kneeling, and crawling depending on activities scheduled. Individuals must be able to grasp office supplies and equipment, communicate clearly via phone, email, and in person, and be able to work in a climate-controlled environment including fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
