What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Waterpark Slide Monitor - Andover YMCA position at YOUNG MEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF WICHITA KANSAS?
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for safety and well-being of slide participants.
- Responsible for positioning self for optimal supervision of slide ladder and launch areas; manage timing of participants slide ladder ascent, check minimum height requirement, and launch into the slide.
- Providing clear and consistent expectations for behavior; setting firm limits with positive phrasing and actions as necessary.
- Working in conjunction with aquatics staff to promote safety first.
- Following and enforcing all safety procedures, rules and regulations.
- Being able to positively correct any unsafe pool activity immediately, every time, without exception.
- Being knowledgeable and prepared to implement emergency procedures immediately.
- Reporting all incidents/accidents on the appropriate form and provide to supervisor within 24 hours of event.
- Never leaving slide unattended.
- Reporting any facility or equipment irregularities to supervisor, in writing.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of deck and other cleaning duties as assigned.
- Attend all required training and scheduled meetings.
- Maintaining good attendance and following procedures for tardies and absences.
- Maintaining effective, positive relationships with members, participants, staff, and volunteers.
- Supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
