Summary
The Global Regulatory Affairs Specialist II plays a key role in supporting and executing Young Living’s international product regulatory strategy. This mid-level professional collaborates closely with regional teams—particularly in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region—to drive proactive compliance efforts, manage product registrations, and build expertise in global and regional regulatory environments.
This position is ideal for a candidate with a Food Science background who can integrate scientific understanding with practical regulatory application across food, cosmetic, and supplement categories in diverse global markets.
Essential Functions
- Assist and lead in regulatory tasks including formula review, product registration, labeling, and market importation.
- Develop and interpret foreign regulatory frameworks and national/community laws relevant to Young Living products.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory contacts in foreign offices, external counsel, industry experts, and government agencies to facilitate product registration and compliance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Research & Development, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control to compile documentation and test data to meet market-specific regulations.
- Review marketing materials such as product labels, packaging, and websites for compliance with ingredient-specific health, nutrition, and therapeutic claims.
- Advise project managers on product registration viability, providing refined regulatory assessments and risk analyses.
- Monitor and evaluate international product laws and regulatory updates, maintaining awareness of global and regional (especially APAC) changes that impact Young Living’s portfolio.
- Develop and execute product registration strategies and regulatory roadmaps for assigned regions and product categories.
- Contribute to database and documentation management, ensuring regulatory data integrity and accessibility across markets.
- Provide proactive regulatory support for product launches, reformulations, and international expansion projects.
Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced understanding of international regulatory frameworks and product life cycle requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food, supplement, and cosmetic regulatory classifications.
- Strong familiarity with APAC regulatory environments (e.g., Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Japan, and other key regional markets).
- Proven ability to track, monitor, and interpret evolving global and regional regulations.
- Skilled in cross-functional project collaboration, risk assessment, and regulatory documentation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills within a compliance-driven environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple international projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and regulatory project management tools (e.g., Workfront).
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, Public Health, or a related scientific discipline.
- 3–5 years of hands-on regulatory affairs experience in an international environment, with direct experience in APAC regulatory submissions or compliance processes.
- Experience with global product registration, import/export documentation, and labeling review.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Food Science strongly preferred) or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years of directly related regulatory experience in food, dietary supplement, or cosmetic product categories.
- A combination of education and experience may meet the requirement.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, and photocopiers. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Employees are also expected to work at least one non-convention farm event a year and to work at the annual company convention.
For this role, there are evening calls with APAC region representatives either once per week or bi-weekly.

Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and occasionally lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
