Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Repair Technician

Pay Range: $24 - $34 per hour; OT over 8 Hours in a day

REQUIRES random drug and alcohol testing throughout the year. The drug test screens for: Marijuana, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Opiates, Phencyclidine and semi-synthetic opioids: hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, and oxymorphone.



Position Summary

Repair Technicians work as part of a team as well as independently. General responsibilities include completing repairs, modifications, overhauls, and tests on aircraft hydraulic/pneumatic components in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part 145 and Tactair Fluid Controls internal processes.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul or modify, and test hydraulic/pneumatic aircraft components.
• Use test fixtures and hand tools to apply twisting (torque) force to loosen a variety of fasteners.
• Communicate component status to Sales & Marketing for quote preparation.
• Certify workmanship is accomplished in accordance with established federal and company guidelines.
• Picks up, sweeps or removes any debris, residue or any excess foreign material located in or around a part, components or assembly as soon as physically possible after the operation takes place.
• Maintains a clean uncluttered work area and takes precautions against the introduction of foreign objects into components and assemblies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Education And Experience

• This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair and test hydraulic/pneumatic components using charts, schematics, and blueprints and test procedures.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with all employees in a diverse, fast-paced and challenging technical environment.
• Good mechanical aptitude is essential. Proficient with hand tools, precision measuring devices including calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and various gauges required.
• Strong preference for Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
• High School graduate, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Work overtime as necessary.
