Who We Are
Young Chefs® Academy is a hands-on cooking school for kids that blends culinary education, creativity, and confidence-building. We teach real-life skills in a high-energy, positive, and encouraging environment—no boring lectures here!
What You’ll Do
As a Young Chefs® Academy Instructor, you’ll be the heart of the kitchen—leading classes, inspiring young chefs, and creating unforgettable experiences for kids and families. You’ll guide kids as they crack their first egg, cheer when someone nails a recipe, and help a shy kid find their voice. You will:
● Lead fun, interactive cooking classes for kids ages 4–18
● Teach basic cooking skills, kitchen safety, and nutrition (don’t worry—we train you!)
● Create a positive, energetic, and supportive classroom environment
● Help with birthday parties, camps, special events, and workshops
● Set up, break down, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen
● Be a role model, hype-person, mentor, and confidence booster for our young chefs —the person every kid deserves in the room
You’re a Great Fit If You: Light up when you walk into a room and want a job that feels meaningful, not mindless.
● Love working with kids and bring positive energy into every room
● Enjoy cooking (professional experience is a bonus, but not required)
● Are reliable, organized, and comfortable leading a group
● Can communicate clearly and keep kids engaged
● Thrive in a fast-paced, fun environment
● Are available evenings and/or weekends
Why You’ll Love It Here
● This is not your average job
● You get to make a real impact on kids’ confidence and independence
● You will be part of a team bringing Little Rock families together around the table
● Young Chefs Academy has over 20 years of developing cooking curriculum, so you have a simple-to-follow roadmap for each class
● You don’t just teach recipes—you build confidence, create memories, and help kids feel proud of themselves
● Supportive leadership
● Every shift is different—and never boring
Bonus Points (Not Required!)
● Culinary, hospitality, education, or childcare experience
● Background in teaching, coaching, or leading groups
● Have a big personality, love themed events, and enjoy being the “teacher” in the room
Pay, Perks & Practical Stuff
● Hourly Pay: $15–$20 per hour, based on experience and availability
● Flexible scheduling (great for students, creatives, and part-time work)
● Positions are part-time based on weekly schedule of events, usually in afternoons through early evening and some mornings as well as full days on Saturday.
● A culinary degree is NOT required but knowing your way around the kitchen and experience working with children is a plus.
●Paid training and ongoing support
● Opportunities to work camps, parties, and special events
● A fun, positive workplace where your energy matters
● A supportive workplace where your energy is appreciated—not drained
