What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Processor position at YouLand?
YOULAND
YouLand is a technology-enabled private lender founded in 2016 operating across the United States, reaching over $2.1 billion in cumulatively funded principal balance and servicing more than 1,600 investors and brokers.
YouLand’s core product suite encompasses fix-and-flip, bridge, and ground-up construction loans targeting residential investors, developers, and brokers who require expedient and flexible capital without the friction of traditional bank underwriting.
With a streamlined online application process coupled with simple documentation requirements, the company promptly closes deals in an environment where speed is paramount to success. In addition to operational excellence, YouLand’s edge is also driven by its use of AI tools across loan origination, underwriting, and capital markets — a technology-first approach that underpins the speed and consistency clients have come to expect.
THE ROLE
We are seeking a Loan Processor as we scale the growth of our loan production. The role sits at the critical juncture of origination, underwriting, and closing — managing high-stakes transactions with care and expediency while maintaining professional decorum and engendering trust with borrowers through strong communication. Ultimately, if a borrower has a smooth loan closing, it is because the Loan Processor made it happen.
This is an end-to-end ownership role that is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-paced, deal-oriented environment, can juggle an active pipeline across multiple stages, and takes genuine pride in executing clean, on-time closings.
The role interfaces daily with account executives, underwriters, capital markets partners, and external vendors — making it a high-visibility position with tangible impact on YouLand’s ability to deliver on the speed and reliability it is known for.

Documentation & File Management

- Maintain comprehensive and well-organized loan files in YouLand’s loan origination system (LOS) from application through funding, ensuring all materials are indexed, current, and audit-ready
- Identify and proactively request missing or deficient items, providing clear documentation checklists that minimize friction and set accurate expectations for borrowers and brokers
Transaction Coordination
- Order and manage third-party reports including appraisals, property inspections, title commitments, and insurance policies, tracking vendor turnaround times to keep transactions on schedule
- Serve as the central coordination point between account executives, underwriting, capital markets, title companies, and closing attorneys to move files efficiently from submission through funding
- Communicate proactively with borrowers and brokers regarding transaction status, outstanding conditions, and timeline expectations, ensuring every stakeholder is informed and aligned
Pipeline & Closing
- Manage an active pipeline of simultaneous transactions across varying stages of the loan lifecycle, maintaining accurate milestone and status tracking in YouLand’s LOS
- Review and action conditions issued by underwriting, coordinating targeted document collection and resubmission with precision and urgency to preserve deal timelines
- Prepare and review closing packages in coordination with title and legal counsel, verifying accuracy of wire instructions, settlement statements, and loan documents ahead of scheduled closings
- Perform post-close audits to confirm funded loans are correctly documented, and escalate any outstanding follow-up items to ensure clean loan boarding
REQUIREMENTS
- 2 years of experience in loan processing, mortgage operations, or a closely related role, with preference for background in private lending, hard money, bridge, or fix-and-flip loan environments
- Familiarity with asset-backed loan products, underwriting mechanics, and key credit metrics including LTV, LTC, ARV, and LTARV
- Experience operating within a loan origination system and document management platform; ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly
- Impeccable attention to detail with a strong orientation toward process design, quality control, and continuous improvement
- Highly organized with the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline across competing priorities and tight timelines without sacrificing accuracy or borrower experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface professionally with borrowers, brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
