THE ROLE
We’re seeking a Capital Markets Associate or VP to support the execution of whole loan sales, pricing strategy, and investor relations for residential mortgage products, including RTL, bridge, and DSCR loans. The role sits at the intersection of Originations, Credit, FP&A, and external stakeholders to maximize execution on whole loan trades while providing support on loan intake, underwriting, trading, capital markets initiatives, and investor relations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Loan Originations and Credit
- Support loan intake and underwriting through interface with internal underwriting team, borrowers, and capital partners.
- Draft and present loan scenarios to capital partners for review, address follow up questions; track and update sales and management on loan scenario statuses.
- Continue to enhance and update credit policy alongside underwriting team; provide observations from external and internal stakeholders from regular touchpoints.
Whole Loan Sales and Trading
- Coordinate with loan operations and FP&A department on trade scheduling, allocations, and loan fundings.
- Prepare loan tapes, funding schedules, and trade closing documentation with accuracy and controls.
- Coordinate and support curative diligence and document exceptions with loan officers and counterparties.
- Execute and close trades in conjunction with FP&A.
Capital Markets Initiatives and Investor Relations
- Participate in and lead touchpoints and pitches with existing and prospective capital markets counterparties.
- Support initiatives on capital formation with prospective limited partners, including preparing diligence, pitch, and data deliverables in collaboration with operations, asset management, and technology teams.
- Support coordination and closings on financing such as warehouse lending, subscription lines, and securitizations.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2–5 years of experience in capital markets, whole loan trading, RTL/Bridge/DSCR lending.
- Strong domain knowledge base of mortgage secondary markets and credit underwriting.
- Organized, attentive, and strong capacity for execution.
- Strong writing skills, communication style, and attention to detail.
- Expert in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling, experience in Microsoft PowerPoint a plus.
