As we continue to grow, we’re looking for our first Head of Talent Acquisition — someone who lives and breathes recruiting, thrives on building relationships, and knows how to bring the best people into a high-growth company. This is a rare opportunity to build our recruiting function from the ground up and play a critical role in shaping the future of our team.
Key Responsibilities
HR / People Operations
- Develop and maintain the company employee handbook, policies, and procedures in line with applicable employment laws (CA and federal)
- Set up and document core HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, performance review cycles, leave tracking, etc.)
- Advise leadership on HR best practices, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Maintain employee records and HR files; support basic HR reporting
- Support culture and engagement initiatives (surveys, feedback mechanisms, simple programs)
Recruiting / Talent Acquisition
- Partner with hiring managers to clarify role requirements and create job descriptions
- Post and manage roles on job boards (e.g., really, LinkedIn) and other channels
- Actively source candidates and manage inbound applications
- Screen resumes and conduct initial phone/video interviews
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers; manage scheduling and communication
- Support offer process and pre-onboarding steps
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or people operations (startup or small company experience preferred)
- Familiarity with U.S. and California employment practices and compliance basics
- Experience writing policies/handbooks and setting up simple HR processes
- Demonstrated success sourcing and hiring for multiple roles at once
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working independently, with strong judgment and discretion
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, real estate, or lending
- Experience implementing or managing HRIS/ATS tools for small teams
Pay: $55,344.96 - $85,652.00 per year
