The Marketing Manager is responsible for executing marketing campaigns that attract new users and drive frequency of visitation to ultimately increase guest counts and drive profitable sales. A legacy brand, Yoshinoya
pioneered the bowl concept with Gyudon Beef over 120 years ago and now we’re casting our eyes on brand evolution and growth.
- Working under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing, the Marketing Manager will facilitate brand marketing communications from storytelling and brand marketing to product testing, new product introductions, menu refinements, pricing,merchandising, and media. A brand ambassador, this creative and analytical candidate will support menu and promotional strategies to positively impact transactions.
Here’s what’s on the menu for the Marketing Manager AKA Essential Functions:
- Support the ideation, formulation, testing, and implementation of five (5) annual promotions to drive transactions, in support of our brand vision and mission.
Serve as the marketing point of contact to ensure alignment on new products, promotions, menu and product changes, testing, validation, pricing, implementation, and tracking.
- Support research initiatives to capture guest insights and team member feedback on current or potential marketing promotions.
- Menu management and rationalization - consistently evaluate current menu items and identify areas for improvement, depletion or optimization.
- Coordinate the efforts of product marketing with those of culinary, purchasing, operations, IT, training,guest relations, and finance.
- Manage product pricing, COGS, new item recipe finalization and forecasting
- Execute pricing increases that meet financial goals
- Facilitate store contests in support of new items in coordination with Operations Leadership and L&D
- Key member of the Product Innovation Team and Implementation Teams
Facilitate product campaigns to include photoshoots, menu board changes and internal communications
- Track marketing, financial, and product performance of each campaign.
Oversee the marketing calendar to reflect all the product and promotional activity.
Deliver marketing communications to support training and implementation of new items and tests that createunderstanding and program expectations to field operations.
Stay current on competitive activity (new products, promotions, pricing) and report findings.
Participate in the brand evolution initiative with consideration for all guest and team member touchpoints.
Partner with Digital Marketing and Brand Marketing to cascade menu and promotional campaigns acrossall touch points (in store merchandising, FSI, digital, social, web, app, traditional)
- Communicate effectively within the department, foster support across various marketing initiatives and provide timely updates.
- Respond to field operations inquiries in a timely fashion.
What You’ll Bring to The Table AKA Competencies & Skills:
- Education and Experience: College degree and 4-6 years of product marketing experience, includingproduct development, project management, consumer testing, SKU rationalization and pricing strategies.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies and procedures; safety rules, training, marketing, data analysis, sales and product mix and food cost reports, and vendor service agreements. Proficient in creating written procedures, marketing, and other materials for guests and employees. Ability to prepare and present updates to cross-functional and leadership teams.
Mathematics and Analytical Skills: Able to perform basic math, generate reports and provide analysis of marketing programs using Excel.
Critical Thinking Skills: Able to identify the root cause of problems, consider viable tactics, thinkthrough potential consequences, and implement corrective action plans. Able to apply common sense to a wide variety of marketing and people problems, resulting in increased effectiveness.
- Conflict Resolution: Able to resolve minor conflicts and foster effective communication within the marketing team and between departments.
Computer Skills: Possesses strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products including Word,Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly. Strong sense of urgency coupled with high standards of personal performance.
Salary : $90,000 - $107,500
