Year Round Computer Technician
Job Description
The York School Department has an anticipated vacancy for a year round full time Computer Technician. The Computer Technician assists, implements, and updates the design, installation and connectivity of computer systems to ensure the stable operation of the York School District’s information technology assets; included are, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all new and existing hardware, software, and communication links. The Computer Technician works within a team of technology staff to resolve end-user hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Technology & Innovation.
Other Responsibilities:
Work cooperatively with Teachers, Staff, Technology Director, and Building Administrators, diagnosing and troubleshooting computer technology problems.
Supports one to one Chromebook deployment
Provides first level support as needed; including phone, onsite and remote assistance
Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of all inventory and procedures
Configures, tests and maintains software and upgrades
Student Invoicing for computer repair
Creates training materials for staff
Participates in budget development process, technology planning, and policy creation
Contributes to the use of problem tracking systems, maintaining records of user problems and solutions
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
One to three years technology experience
Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science; MIS, or equivalent 4-year technical degree, combination of experience and education will be considered.
Experience supporting Windows, Mac OS/iOS, and Chrome OS devices
Working knowledge of wireless and network technologies
Strong customer service orientation
Must be highly motivated, directed, and display keen attention to detail
Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
Possess proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience working in team oriented, collaborative environment
Must possess a valid driver’s license

Google Educator Level 1 Certification
Apple Certified Mac Technician, Google Admin certification
JAMF Management Certification
