York Engineering is seeking a full-time Entry-Level Structural Engineer. We are looking for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or a college senior graduating with a civil or structural engineering degree who has relevant structural engineering experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist with structural engineering design and calculations for residential and other building projects
- Prepare engineering calculations, estimates, and minor structural designs
- Draft structural plans, details, components, and callouts using AutoCAD and related software
- Review architectural and structural plans for accuracy and coordination
- Complete assigned work within project budgets and deadlines
- Apply applicable building codes, including the IRC and IBC
- Coordinate with engineers, clients, contractors, and building officials to resolve structural questions
- Assist senior engineers with project research, bids, and technical documentation
- Perform occasional site visits
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, or a related engineering field; or currently enrolled as a college senior in an applicable bachelor’s degree program
- EIT certification preferred
- College seniors must have relevant coursework, internship experience, or other practical experience in structural engineering
- Working knowledge of structural engineering principles and building component design
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and site plans
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with engineers, clients, contractors, and coworkers
- Basic experience with AutoCAD required
- Experience with Revit, Bluebeam, or Civil 3D preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed
- Ability to walk on uneven ground and work in varying weather and construction-site conditions
- Ability to climb stairs or ladders, bend, crawl into confined areas, and lift up to 20 pounds
