JB York Construction, Inc. is hiring experienced and motivated Carpenter/Laborers to join our team serving the Galveston and Greater Houston area.

For nearly 20 years, York Construction has built a reputation for successfully completing complex renovations in occupied facilities. We specialize in challenging commercial construction projects where quality, safety, communication, and attention to detail matter most.

What You'll Do

As a Carpenter/Laborer, you'll be an important part of our field team, performing a variety of commercial construction tasks including:

• General carpentry
• Framing
• Drywall installation and repairs
• Ceiling grid and ceiling tile installation
• Door, frame, and hardware installation
• Demolition
• Concrete patching and minor formwork
• Jobsite cleanup and material handling
• Operating hand and power tools
• Assisting foremen and superintendents with daily project activities
• Working safely in occupied buildings while maintaining a clean, professional jobsite

Every day is different, and you'll have the opportunity to work on projects that require problem-solving, craftsmanship, and teamwork.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in commercial construction, carpentry, or general labor
• Reliable transportation to projects in the Galveston/Houston area
• Ability to work 40 hours per week, including overtime when needed
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
• Ability to pass Background Checks & Drug Tests.
• Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with commercial renovations
• Experience working in hospitals, schools, laboratories, or occupied facilities
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred but not required)
• Ability to read basic construction drawings
• Experience operating construction equipment and power tools
