What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Hall Monitor - 7.5 Hours Per Day position at YORK CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT?
Experience And Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate
- CPR trained, First Aide trained
- Must have strong organizational skills, both written and varbal
- Must have the ability to effectively solve problems in a professional manner
- Must have the ability to interact with families in a manner that demonstrates respect and dignity
- Must have the ability to resolve minor conflicts
- Must be trained in de-escalation skills and passive restraint
- Must have valid and unrestricted PA Driver's License
- Act 34 Clearance, Act 151 Clearance and FBI Clearance (self-paid)
- Pre-Employment Drug Screening (self-paid)
- Act 126 & Act 71 Training Certification
- Letter of Interest, Resume and Application Directly through the District website
- Patrols district buildings & grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry
- Patrols school grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles
- Assist in maintaining proper student behavior in restrooms, hallways, cafeteria, on school grounds, at school events, and at other areas as assigned
- Monitoring the hallways for proper identification (i.e. detention, discipline referrals)
- Possible removal of students from property as requested
- Assist in maintaining general maintenance of the building, by reporting damage, and by removing debris within assigned areas
- Serve in various capacities at special events as directed by staff
- Assist students with upholding rules and regulations consistent with the goals and objectives of the building to which you are assigned
- Assist administrators, staff, and police in reporting incidents, by identifying students and/or adults involved in activities, which may be illegal or harmful to students, staff or others
- Conduct orientation tours for new students
- Maintan a daily log (i.e: classroom pick ups, incident reports, etc)
- Attne appropriate training as offered (i.e.: passive restraints, CPR, conflict resolution)
- Maintain lunches for the Internal Suspension Room and holding room
- Possible physical intervention in student altercations
- Coverage for holding room or internal suspension room as needed
- Wear district approved security shirt on a daily basis
- Carry communication device and respond to all calls in a timely fashion
- Transport students in District-owned vehicle as necessary
- All other duties assigned by supervisor
