York Building Products is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you'll safely operate a variety of heavy construction and mining equipment while supporting daily production and maintaining equipment in peak operating condition.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in operating equipment safely and efficiently, and thrives in a hands-on environment.
What You'll Do
This position is performed primarily in an outdoor mining or quarry environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and dust. Operators regularly work around heavy equipment and industrial machinery while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
All work is performed in accordance with York Building Products' safety policies and procedures.

York Building Products is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. In this role, you'll safely operate a variety of heavy construction and mining equipment while supporting daily production and maintaining equipment in peak operating condition.

What You'll Do
- Safely operate heavy equipment including front-end loaders, dozers, haul trucks, and excavators.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine preventive maintenance.
- Identify and report equipment issues to help minimize downtime.
- Work safely and efficiently while supporting production goals.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers, coworkers, and management.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment.
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation and preventive maintenance.
- One to two years of preventive maintenance and lubrication experience is preferred.
- Previous mining or quarry experience is a plus.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures and operating instructions.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and flexible schedules as business demands.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
