DESCRIPTION
The Yolo County Innovation and Technology Services Department is seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT professional to fill two (2) regular, full-time Systems Software Specialist I/II positions. The selected candidate will be placed at either the I or II level depending on qualifications and experience. Annual salary range for each level is as follows:
- Systems Software Specialist I: $100,027.20 - $121,576.00
- Systems Software Specialist II $109,948.80 - $133,660.80
The Systems Software Specialists play a critical role in supporting the County’s enterprise technology platforms, with a strong focus on:
- Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) product support
- SharePoint Online development and administration
- Microsoft Power Apps development
- Business Intelligence (BI) / Reporting (Power BI)
- Website CMS support and maintenance
The incumbents will work closely with County departments to design, implement, and support solutions that improve business processes and data-driven decision-making. Essential duties/functions of the Systems Software Specialist positions include:
- Support and maintain various COTS products used across County departments
- Design, develop, and administer SharePoint Online sites and applications
- Build and deploy Power Apps to automate business processes
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Integrate BI tools with multiple data sources and ensure data accuracy
- Support and maintain website CMS platforms
- Collaborate with ITSD staff and County departments to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Document system configurations, enhancements, and workflows
- Provide training and technical guidance to County staff
- Participate in project planning, testing, and implementation activities
Work Schedule: These are hybrid positions. The selected candidates will work 3 days per week onsite in Woodland, CA, and up to 2 days remotely (subject to change due to County Policy or departmental needs).
THE IDEAL CANDIDATES
- Have three to five (3 - 5) years of experience in a similar role as described above

- Business Intelligence/Data Warehousing/Data Analytics and Reporting (Power BI, SQL, ETL)
- Website CMS platforms (CivicPlus, Granicus)

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
The minimum qualifications required for a candidate to proceed in the selection process of this recruitment are as follows:
Experience: Three (3) years of experience configuring, installing, upgrading, maintaining, diagnosing, analyzing and resolving problems relating to network software and hardware systems.-
Background Requirements: Incumbents in this class may have access to Federal Tax Information and are subject to confidentiality and safeguarding requirements of Internal Revenue Code 6103(p)(4). As such, an individual selected for this position is subject to a thorough background investigation as stipulated in Section 5.1.1 of Internal Revenue Service Publication 1075, which includes the following:
- Review of Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint results;
- Check of local law enforcement agencies where the subject has lived, worked and/or attended school within the last five (5) years and, if applicable, of the appropriate agency for any identified arrests; and
- Verification of an employee's eligibility to work in the United States.
- License: Positions in this classification require incumbents to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license, Class C or higher, to carry out job related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical or mental disability may request a reasonable accommodation.
