Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product information or demos
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, ensuring efficient merchandising and stocking of products
- Upsell items by suggesting complementary products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Support inventory management through stock replenishment, product placement, and merchandising efforts
- Assist in training new team members or supervising shifts when needed to ensure smooth store operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales preferred
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail environment is a plus
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Strong communication skills with excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail math for cash handling and sales calculations
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Enthusiastic about product demos, upselling techniques, and creating engaging shopping experiences
- Experience in merchandising, stocking shelves, or managing retail displays is advantageous
- Must possess a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service
