Responsibilities:
- Support accelerated prototype builds of advanced aircraft and flight system platforms prior to production release.
- Assemble and integrate complex wire harnesses and PCB assemblies in accordance with aerospace-grade workmanship standards.
- Perform precision crimping, soldering, wire routing, shielding, connector termination, and backshell installation.
- Interpret detailed engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and build instructions to execute highly technical assemblies.
- Route and secure wiring to meet form board layouts, bend radius requirements, and environmental specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections and electrical testing, including continuity and insulation resistance checks, to verify conformance to Class 3 standards.
- Identify and correct workmanship defects to ensure zero-defect quality expectations in a high-reliability environment.
- Maintain accurate production records, test documentation, and component traceability.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, avionics, and quality teams to troubleshoot issues and support rapid development cycles.
- Adhere to all safety, ESD, and quality procedures within a regulated aerospace manufacturing setting.
- 3-5 years of experience in aerospace, defense, military, or other high-reliability electronics manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated experience building and inspecting wire harnesses and electronic assemblies to IPC Class 3 standards.
- Current IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification required (or recently held with ability to recertify).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Hands-on experience with crimping tools, soldering equipment, inspection microscopes, and related assembly tools.
- Experience supporting prototype or low-volume, high-mix production environments preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to quality and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced development environment with evolving priorities.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods in a lab or production environment.
- Frequent fine motor use of hands for detailed assembly and soldering work.
- Ability to visually inspect small components and wiring assemblies with precision.
- Capability to lift and move materials or equipment up to approximately 25 pounds as needed.
