Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Active Psychologist license in state of California
- At least two years of experience with developmental disabilities or behavioral health
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical documentation skills
- Knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, and materials of psychology in serving the developmentally disabled
What You'll Be Doing:
- Evaluate cognitive and adaptive functioning, develop behavior support plans, and offer guidance to clients, families, and staff to promote independence and quality of life
- Assist in matters related to psychology, specifically to the provision of comprehensive services to people with developmental disabilities
- Participate as teacher/consultant to personnel involved in the development and delivery of services to people with developmental disabilities
- Assist in the development of new programs where need arises and in the ongoing evaluation of programs for the developmentally disabled within the region
- Perform other related duties as assigned (ie conservatorship petitions and competency to stand trial evaluations, and diverse plans)
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Ability to work 8am to 5pm shifts between Monday and Friday
- Doctorate in Clinical or Educational Psychology
- Use of an automobile, possession of a valid driver's license, and automobile liability insurance for the minimum amount prescribed by law or the ability to provide independent transportation
