Disaster Mass Care Manager (Readiness & Volunteer Capacity)- OnSite

Yoh has an immediate, 3-month contract for a Disaster Mass Care Manager (Readiness & Volunteer Capacity)- OnSite within the humanitarian/non profit industry to jour client to report from their office in Houston, TX.

• $39.26/hr. max pay rate
• Typical work hours are 8am–5pm; however disaster activations may require outside hours & travel will be required
• 2–5 years of experience in disaster services, emergency management, volunteer coordination, or related nonprofit, program, or operations roles.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Ensure all active shelters have a completed shelter survey and signed Facility Use Agreement (FUA), with all information entered into WebEOC. 
• Contact all Supervisor-level volunteers and above to engage them in local mass care activities, update availability, identify gaps (GAPs), assess deployment interest, and recruit DRA coordinators. 
• Participate on the planning committee and support execution of the event scheduled for May 16–17. 
• Develop and document a basic Mass Care manual to support onboarding and engagement of new volunteers. 
• Plan and deliver two shelter trainings per chapter per month through July. 
• Organize and host one Shelter Supervisor training at each client site by the end of the 90-day term. 
• Implement lessons learned and program development recommendations from Spring 2026 tabletop & exercises.

What You Need to Bring to the Table:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Disaster services or emergency management
  • Mass care, sheltering, or disaster readiness
  • Volunteer coordination or engagement
  • Program, project, or operations coordination
  • Nonprofit or humanitarian services
• Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple teams and locations
• Strong organizational, communication, and follow?through skills
• Comfort working in dynamic environments with shifting priorities
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
• Ability to work outside traditional business hours during major disaster responses
