What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outdoor Environmental Instructors- summer 5 weeks San Luis Coastal position at Yogativity Learning?
Summer Camp Instructors needed to lead our Outdoor Environmental Middle School program at San Luis Coastal schools. We are looking for educators who will share our passion for the outdoors, positive encouragement and making a difference in the lives of students.
We are hiring enthusiastic individuals for 4.5 weeks (20 teaching days) of camp, June 11- July 10 in San Luis Coastal USD. We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds who love fostering learning and fun, and have solid experience working with Outdoor Education and environmental programming. We offer competitive pay for the right instructors and are looking for instructors who ideally have middle school experience.
The program invites middle school students to interact in an outdoor setting and become stewards of their environment with engaging activities that focus on mindfulness practices while building environmental awareness, outdoor skills and leadership development. We will provide training, daily curriculum, games and materials for each class.
Students are in a class ratio of 1:20.
What you will be doing:
- Lead the class for students that incorporates mindfulness with environmental stewardship.
What we are looking for:
- Experience working with groups of kids, especially middle school age
- Teachers and Educators with effective group management skills
- Energetic, kind, and patient personality
- Punctual and reliable, with access to a reliable form of transportation
What your schedule will look like: Monday through Friday 8:30-2:15, teaching 3 groups of 90 minutes each.
