Title: Network Support Engineer (FIM)
Location: Plano, Texas 75094
Position Summary
The Fault Isolation & Management Engineer, Transport, Wireless NOC will be supporting 24/7 Network Operations Center. The Fault Isolation & Management (FIM) Engineer will monitor the Transport Network, proving next level troubleshooting of Networking & Transport incident tickets. The FIM Engineer will work with a sense of urgency to solve issues efficiently and effectively to restore service to our customers, escalating issues to Advanced Operations or Engineering when necessary. A successful FIM Engineer will be supporting the end-to-end troubleshooting of the entire platform, and guidance for Network Surveillance Engineers.
Skills, Experience and Requirements
- Bachelor/Master's degree or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of telecom/Networking experience.
- Experience managing 4G/5G NOC shift environments and troubleshooting activities.
- Knowledge of IP routing, protocols and transport, software systems /services running virtualized functions
- Familiarity with IP technology and CCNP is advantageous & experience on SDH, DWDM, SON, Lumen, Zayo, Everstream etc.
- Strong understanding of BGP and ISIS routing protocols
- Strong understanding of SR-MPLS, and L2/L3VPN technologies.
- Good understanding of Transport technologies & OSI reference model
- Able to organize and prioritize dynamic schedules, balance team work loads and ensure incidents are managed quickly and efficiently to resolution.
- Knowledge of 5G functional components (Core, RAN, Network, Transport, PaaS and gNB configurations).
