Position: Maintenance Mechanic

POSITION SUMMARY:
To construct, maintain and test production mechanic equipment.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
- Plan, lead and execute preventative maintenance (PM) according to PM schedule to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain all production line machinery and equipment to manufacturers specifications; including reading and understanding all machine manuals.
- Complete reactive maintenance on production lines to recover from equipment failures by repairing mechanical, and structural components.
- Repair, maintain, rebuild, operate & troubleshoot all mechanical equipment.
- Adjust all equipment as needed.
- Make all welding repairs.
- Monitor refrigeration equipment.
- Execute plant prevention maintenance program.
- Participate in special project work on equipment upgrades or installations.
- Work with team members and operators to ensure the daily production schedule is met.
- Communicate daily with Quality Control, Supervisors and Machine Operators.
- Report maintenance problems to supervisors verbally and written follow-up.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
- Knowledge of machine shop, welding, fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics & trouble-shooting.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance field using high-speed manufacturing
- production equipment.
- Flexible to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
- Strong mechanical skills with Machinist / part fabrication experience is a must.
- PLC experience is desired.
- Solid computer skills including the use of Word and Excel.
- Refrigeration Engineer’s License a plus.
- Solid problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
- Able to lift, push, pull 60 lbs. as needed.
- General Maintenance Tools (Brooms, Mops, Hand and Power Tools).
