Our CEO will guide and inspire a dedicated staff team who are passionate about serving the community. He or she will prioritize the safety and well-being of all individuals, especially youth, by exceeding industry standards and ensuring full compliance.

The YMCA Board is seeking a visionary and community-minded CEO with proven leadership experience. The CEO must have the ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the YMCA's mission and long-term goals. Have excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills. Must have a track record of success in achieving measurable outcomes and driving organizational growth. Coupled with a deep understanding of the YMCA's values and a commitment to its mission.

Build and Lead Staff: Ensure a talent development system is in place and executed effectively with cultural competence. Hire, motivate, nurture, retain, and hold staff accountable for key objectives. Fiscal Management: Use high-level financial analysis to forecast financial trends, growth and stability, while consistently leading the organization to balance or surplus operations by growing earned revenue and contributions and controlling costs. Develop and Implement a Strategic Plan: Work effectively with volunteers, community leaders, and key staff, to create and develop a strategic plan that addresses the needs of the communities served by the Y and includes defined organizational strategies, a clear implementation plan with deliverables, and measurable goals. Position the Y as a Vital Partner for Community Change: Serve as an ambassador for the mission, purpose, and vision for the YMCA within the community. Possess the ability to develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds, while always upholding the highest standards and values of the Y. Ensure your Y is seen as a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other. Improve Operating Performance: Engage the board and appropriate staff to develop an annual tactical plan for identifying and achieving key goals and objectives towards operating with safe, relevant and sustainable practices. Quickly address issues that may arise, forecast future needs, and manage and direct the Y’s operations and activities. About the YMCA:
The original Lebanon Valley Family YMCA started modestly in 1898 – where a small group of men gathered who were interested in building a better community. Since its inception, the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA has been a respected nonprofit institution, serving the entire community as a source of health and wellness, recreation, enrichment, after school programs and numerous other services for children and teens.

At the end of the fiscal year in 2024, membership had a total of 5,402 members. YMCA health and wellbeing programs provided over 13,000 individuals of all ages with continuous supportive relationships and environments that engaged, involved and maintained health in spirit, mind and body. In 2024, the Lebanon Valley Family YMCA served close to 4,000 youth and teens in YMCA mission driven programs and services.

About the Area:
The City of Lebanon is strategically located almost equidistant from Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Reading. Lebanon is accessible from the south via the Pennsylvania Turnpike and from the north by both I-81 and I-78. The City’s 25,000 residents are served by numerous public, private and non-profit entities that have a positive impact on the quality of life.

Lebanon City provides 10 parks, 6 playgrounds, and numerous walking paths for the residents and visitors of the city to enjoy. Within the City limits there are several tennis and basketball courts, football, softball, baseball and soccer fields, park pavilions and indoor facilities to rent, Stoever’s Dam for fishing, hiking and camping, and many other recreational activities available. The City owns and maintains more than 8 acres of green space to play and relax. Whether you prefer sports, hiking, fishing or picnicking, Lebanon has a park for you.

The Lebanon Farmers Market, a modern library, Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, numerous churches and the City-County Municipal Building are all located in or within two blocks of the Central Business District. Each year, the Community of Lebanon Association sponsors a variety of public events, and our citizens can leisurely walk the streets, enjoy the rich history of Lebanon’s Downtown and visit the various specialty shops.

The City of Lebanon is the economic center of the region. Our historic downtown offers several local restaurants, including Snitz Creek Brewery, The Downtown Lounge, Queso Dee’as Southwest Grille, La Placita de Lebanon: Authentic Mexican Food and William Penn Restaurant. We offer several specialty stores: Wertz Candies, known internationally for its candy and handmade caramel corn, and Queen’s Natural Market, a healthy living marketplace. Other local restaurants located in nearby neighborhoods are a decade-long, award-winning Italian restaurant, Trattoria Fratelli and the Gin Mill Restaurant serving American fare, locally owned and operated since the early 1930’s. Other specialty shops in the city include Van Winkle’s Opera Fudge, Shuey’s Homemade Pretzel Shop, and just on the outskirts of the city, the famous Lebanon Bologna manufacturer since 1885, the Daniel Weaver Company (Godshall’s).

Residency Expectation: Must reside in Lebanon County

Salary Range: $140,000-$200,000

Benefits:

  • Y Retirement (percent paid by Y 11%, by employee 1%) contribution once eligibility is met
  • Y Retirement 403B Savings Account eligible on first day of employment
  • PTO - Vacation 10-25 depending on tenure, Personal 3, Sick 6
