RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ASSISTANT PRESCHOOL TEACHER:
- Work alongside lead teacher to create experiences that support a full range of developmental and social and emotional needs, including opportunities that allow children to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills and creativity, as well as a sense of self and a feeling of belonging to the group.
- Promote feelings of security and trust by being warm, supportive and comforting and by establishing strong and caring relationships with children.
- Create and maintain a clean, safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning and promoting social relationships.
- In conjunction with the lead teacher create and implement weekly lesson plans.
- This is not an exhaustive list of job duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.
REQUIREMENTS TO BE AN ASSISTANT PRESCHOOL TEACHER:
- Minimum age of 18.
- Must enjoy working with children.
- High School diploma or equivalency.
- Minimum of 6 months qualifying experience.
- Current fingerprint clearance and negative TB or the ability to obtain.
