This role is ideal for someone who wants to make an impact, develop leadership skills, and grow within a mission-centered organization.
Quick Facts
- Start: Immediate
- End: June 2026 (with possible summer extensions)
- Pay Rate: $23/hour (part-time, non-exempt)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00–6:30 PM (Wednesdays begin at 12:45 PM)
- Weekly Hours: 26–28
- Locations: Elementary and middle schools in Richmond, San Pablo, and El Sobrante (map: http://map.ymcayscholars.org)

As a Group Leader, you will:
- Lead a classroom of 15–20 students in enrichment, recreation, and academics
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that encourage curiosity and creativity
- Build a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students
- Track daily attendance and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with fellow staff to ensure a positive and consistent program experience
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- 48 completed college units OR passing score on the Instructional Aide Exam (support available)
- DOJ and FBI background clearance
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within 30 days of hire (training provided at no cost)
