ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR ALL CAMP CHIEF OURAY TEAM MEMBERS:

• Create a safe space for all campers, families, and staff. Promote safe work practices to allow for development and growth for all.
• Possess the mental, social, and emotional skills necessary to build rapport and positive relationships.
• Respond to camper and customer requests for service, troubleshoot problems and develop solutions in a patient and respectful manner.
• Contribute to a cooperative and positive camp community, be a team player.
• Be responsible for the upkeep of the camp facility and cleanliness of camp. Report any repairs in a timely manner.
• Assist other departments as needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR A STORE VOLUNTEER:

• Assist with the setup, supervision, and cleanup of camp activities, games, and events
• Support counselors in managing camper groups and transitions between activities
• Help maintain a clean and organized camp environment
• Provide positive role modeling and encourage camper participation
• Monitor camper safety and report any concerns to staff

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to stand in one place for lengthy periods of time
• Must be able to read and understand English
• Must be able to work mornings, evenings, holidays and weekends

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds up to four (4) feet high
• Be able to stand up to eight (8) hours a day
• Short bursts of stooping, kneeling, and bending.

BENEFITS:

As a volunteer there is no compensation. Volunteer perks include:
