POSITION SUMMARY: 

This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 225,000 annually. The Senior Director of Sales and Marketing is a strategic leader responsible for growing occupancy and revenue while creating excellent brand strength, marketing, and communications at YMCA of the Rockies. This role leads organizational growth efforts through guest-driven revenue channels. The Senior Director oversees all group sales, call center, marketing, communications, and revenue management functions. The Senior Director partners cross-functionally with all business functions to ensure a high-quality guest experience and rapid strategic pivots in response to business needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide visionary leadership for Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Management by guiding team members in meeting individual and collective goals. 
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive environment where staff feel valued, respected, and inspired to achieve excellence. 
  • Mentor and develop Sales Director, Marketing and Communications Director, and Revenue Manager by offering coaching, training, and growth opportunities. 
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for maintaining high standards of professionalism and guest service. 
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with YMCA of the Rockies’ mission and revenue goals. 
  • Monitor market trends, analyze data, and adjust strategies to optimize performance across all market segments. 
  • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the reach of YMCA of the Rockies’ offerings. 
  • Ensure effective pricing, contracting, and inventory management practices that balance revenue goals with guest satisfaction. 
  • Oversee marketing campaigns, digital presence, and communication strategies to enhance brand visibility. 
  • Ensure consistent messaging across all platforms and customer touchpoints. 
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex client issues or high-value bookings requiring leadership involvement. 
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators, such as response time, conversion rates, repeat business, and revenue growth. 
  • Prepare regular reports for board members and senior leadership, highlighting successes, trends, challenges, and recommendations for improvement. 
  • Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and enhance sales strategies. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, community partners, and industry contacts to promote YMCA of the Rockies as a premier destination for group events. 
  • Representing YMCA of the Rockies at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities. 
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization, communicating our mission and values in all professional interactions. 
  • Grow occupancy at both properties by 1% or more annually. 
  • Ensure team compliance with response time standards, maintaining responses to inquiries within 24 hours. 
  • Deliver high levels of client satisfaction as reflected in surveys, feedback, and repeat bookings. 
  • Drive revenue growth in alignment with organizational goals. 
  • Possess stamina to work in the work environment described.      
  • Possess a valid, USA state-issued driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, and comply with YMCA driving rules to be approved to operate YMCA vehicles.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7-10 years of experience in destination marketing, brand strategy, or revenue-aligned communications.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and aligning marketing with business results.
  • Proficiency in website management, paid media strategy, lifecycle marketing, and performance analytics.
  • Experience with AI-driven tools, content systems, SEO/AEO, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Proven success in DEI-focused marketing and inclusive brand development.
  • Skilled in competitive analysis, campaign execution, and public relations.

  • Must meet acceptable criminal background check standards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to regularly travel overnight as required by the demands of the position.
