Schedule: Thursday through Monday, 2pm-7pm
Reports To: Custodian Team Lead / Branch Executive
About the Role
We’re looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our facility team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that our building remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all members, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and contributes to maintaining an environment that reflects our commitment to excellence and community care.
Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize assigned areas, including floors, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and common spaces.
Perform daily tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, and trash removal.
Refill soap, paper towels, and other supplies as needed.
Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Report maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly.
Secure the building during and after shifts and report any safety or security concerns.
Assist with setup and cleanup for meetings, programs, and events.
Support seasonal upkeep such as snow removal, lawn care, and pool maintenance.
Qualifications
Six (6) months or more of custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to follow instructions, safety standards, and facility procedures.
Working knowledge of cleaning products, tools, and safety practices.
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs., and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet and in varying environmental conditions.
Physical Requirements
This position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching. You’ll regularly handle cleaning chemicals, operate equipment, and work in conditions that may include dust, moisture, or temperature variations.
