Preschool Teacher

The YMCA of Orange County is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are actively seeking highly engaged, intentional, and service-oriented individuals for Part-time Toddler and Preschool qualified Teachers.

Work Schedule: 1pm -6 pm

Purpose & Impact:

• Be a Mentor: Guide children (ages 5-12) through curriculum-aligned activities (STEM, arts, homework).

Minimum Qualifications (Must Meet One Level):

• Minimum Age: 18 years old.
• Experience: Required 6 months experience working with children (ages 5-12) in a licensed setting.
• Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, degree in Child Development or related field preferred.
  • At least 12 postsecondary units in Early Childhood Education or child development completed including Child Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community and program/curriculum.
  • Additional 3 units in Infant/Toddler Development required for Toddler Teacher positions.
  • Pediatric (EMSA) First Aid and Pediatric (EMSA) CPR certifications require within 30 days of hire. (The YMCA will provide training)
  • 15-hour preventative health practice certifications within 90 days of hire. (Paid for by YMCA)
• Complete YMCA Core trainings within first 60 days of employment.
