Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
- Required certifications: Area of Expertise, CPR, First Aid, AED, national certification (ACSM, ACE, AFAA, ISSA, NASM, NESTA, NETA, NPTI, NSCA) in personal training
- 1 year of experience teaching group wellness classes is preferred, not required
- Proven knowledge of exercise science, movement coaching, and movement competency
- Completion of YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 60 days of hire
- Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed, to accomplish YMCA's mission and goals
- Asks and answers questions within their scope of knowledge from participants and members
- Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members
- Observes and adjusts approach to support all participants’ capabilities, physical conditions, health, and culture
- Performs other assigned duties as directed by the Supervisor
