Title: Welcome Center Attendant
Status: Part-Time
Reports to: Membership Director
Job Summary:
To efficiently deliver excellent customer service to all members, guests, and program participants. Respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs and maintain cleanliness of the front desk.
Job Responsibilities:
- Punctuality– You are required to be to work on time and according to the schedule. Any additional hours must be authorized by the Membership Director. Failure to report for your shift can result in documented write-up and/or termination. Schedules are completed one month at a time. If you cannot work a scheduled shift, it is your responsibility to find a replacement.
- Build Relationships – You are required to work effectively with all members and guests. Build relationships with members and help members connect with one another.
- Customer Service – You are required to provide excellent service to all including telephone calls. If you are unable to answer a question, you need to get their name and telephone number and follow-up.
- Process Memberships efficiently: You are required to process membership of different varieties via our daxko system. You will be required to process scholarship memberships, renewals, and discounted membership from United Healthcare. You will provide assistance in registering families for sports, personal training, swim lessons, and any other program we offer. You will use outlook as communication for Yfit schedules and emailing directors in multiple departments.
- Quality assistance: You will be required to help members who want to purchase food or drinks from our cold case during your shift.
- Conflict Resolution – Handle and resolve concerns and issues to the best of your ability. Inform appropriate supervisor of any unusual scenarios/situations.
- Meeting Attendance – You are required to attend mandatory meetings (Unless it has been approved by the Membership Director).
- Cleanliness of work area – It is your responsibility to maintain order and cleanliness of the front desk area. There are daily cleaning tasks for each shift at the desk that need to be maintained. Keep items picked up and straightened, clean counters, make copies of forms as required. Make sure the coffee bar is clean and there are no sugar or coffee spills. Make sure coffee is put away by 2:00 pm daily.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Attend all scheduled meetings
· Be punctual for all shifts
· Greet members when they check in and when they leave the facility. Pay attention to their account as they check in to make sure they are in active status.
· Process memberships, guest pass transactions, schedule y-fits, cold case sales, and program registrations.
· Learn member’s names. Greet everyone, if possible, when they enter the facility and as they exit. Remember you are the first contact our members and guests experience as they enter the facility.
· Smile – it is amazing what a smile can do to make someone’s day.
· Listen – be sure and listen to what the members and guests are saying.
· Be sincere when listening and responding to issues. What may not seem important to you may be extremely important to the person talking to you.
· If you don’t know the answer to a question, assure our members and guests that you will talk to someone and that they will be contacted. Be sure and follow-up.
Restrictions:
- All employees are required to work at least 8 hours per month to maintain complimentary membership status. If you wish to have your family on your membership the policy for this must be followed (refer to Employee Handbook)
- All other guidelines must be followed in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
- Attendance to meetings is mandatory.

Physical Qualifications:
