Summer Camp Counselor- Okmulgee Family YMCA

• Provide continuous, active supervision of assigned youth groups in accordance with YMCA supervision standards, staff-to-child ratios, and safety protocols.
• Implement age-appropriate activities that support youth development, social-emotional learning, and positive behavior.
• Enforce YMCA policies and procedures, including safety, emergency response, behavior guidance, child abuse prevention, and mandated reporting requirements.
• Build positive, professional relationships with youth, families, and fellow staff; model YMCA values in all interactions.
• Support youth leadership by encouraging problem-solving, decision-making, and reflection within daily programming.
• Maintain program areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff.
• Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.
• Abide by the YMCA’s four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience working or volunteering with children ages 4–12.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise youth in a group setting and manage behavior appropriately.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen certification (will provide upon hire).
