Play & Learn Staff- Okmulgee Family YMCA

• Provide constant, active supervision of children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
• Greet children and families warmly at arrival and departure, supporting a positive member experience
• Lead and support age-appropriate, structured activities that encourage development and engagement
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment and equipment
• Communicate professionally and regularly with parents and guardians
• Follow and consistently enforce all program policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements
• Model inclusive practices that ensure all children feel safe, respected, and welcome
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and ethical conduct in all interactions
• Maintain current knowledge of YMCA programs, policies, and procedures
• Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures regarding the prevention of abuse.
• Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or misconduct immediately to the appropriate supervisory staff.
• Attend mandatory training on abuse prevention, including recognizing signs of abuse, and reporting requirements.
• Abide by the YMCA’s four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned

Required:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of six months experience working with children ages 6 weeks–12 years
• Strong desire and demonstrated ability to work with children
• Current CPR, First Aid, and Oxygen Certification (will provide upon hire)
• Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with children, parents, and coworkers
• Reliable attendance and punctuality

Preferred:

• Bilingual - English/Spanish.
• Excellent communication skills
