Job Title: Outdoor Summer Camp Staff
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Program Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm
Camp runs from June 15-August 21 with training the week of June 8.
Position Summary
The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo offers full day outdoor summer camp for Youth in the Greater Kalamazoo area. Outdoor Summer Camp staff will work with the Outdoor Education Specialist to create a safe and high-quality experience for Campers. Staff will provide direct supervision to Campers while modeling our core values of integrity, collaboration, diversity, and health.

Essential Functions
- Available and willing to work all 10 weeks of camp plus the training week.
- Work with site team to ensure program runs smoothly and efficiently each day.
- Facilitate educational and engaging activities for campers.
- Develop and demonstrate knowledge of Day Camp Licensing requirements.
- Ensure program records are complete and kept confidential as required.
- Develop relationships with Campers and families to ensure open communication is maintained throughout the Summer.
- Commit to expanding your skills and knowledge with required and recommended trainings.
- Remain current in CPR and First Aid to be able to appropriately handle emergency situations.
- As required by Michigan law, report any suspected incidence of child abuse to the program director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in outdoor summer camp environment preferred
- CPR and First Aid certifications must be obtained within the first 30 days of hire.
- Must be able to participate in activities with children
- Daily cleaning to maintain a safe and healthy space
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Salary : $15
