Job Title: Child Nutrition Coordinator
Pay Rate: Full time position, $17-$19 depending on education and experience
Reports to: Association Out-of-School Time Director
POSITION SUMMARY:
Manage all phases of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and the Summer Food
Service Program (SFSP) and will ensure both programs operate in accordance with Michigan
Department of Education (MDE) and USDA program guidelines and requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plan and implement menus that meet CACFP, SFSP, USDA, and MDE nutrition standards,
ensuring inclusivity and dietary accommodations.
2. Order, receive, and manage food and supply inventory in collaboration with vendors,
while maintaining cost efficiency and minimizing waste.
3. Prepare and/or oversee meal service, including safe transport of food to off-site program
locations.
4. Maintain accurate records, submit required reports for reimbursement, and ensure full
compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
5. Uphold food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with health department
regulations.
6. Collaborate with program staff and other YMCA departments to support meal service and
organizational initiatives.
7. Attend staff meetings and trainings, maintain required certifications (First Aid/CPR), and
stay current on child nutrition best practices.
8. Ensure all youth are safe from abuse and as required by Michigan law, report any
suspected
incidence of child abuse or neglect to your supervisor and Children’s Protective Services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED
2. Six months to one year of experience in a food service setting or equivalent combination
of education, training
3. Current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain
4. Experience with USDA food programs helpful
5. Basic computer skills
