The YMCA is looking for a Membership Sales Representative who brings energy, purpose, and heart into every conversation. You’ll be the welcoming voice that introduces prospective members to the mission, impact, and transformative programs of the Y—creating meaningful experiences that inspire individuals and families to become part of something bigger.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive membership growth by engaging in outbound calls to prospective and returning members.
  • Understand each caller’s needs to recommend the perfect membership options and programs.
  • Schedule and coordinate center experience tours and follow-up communications in coordination with the Member Experience Director.
  • Use YMCA systems and tools to deliver a smooth, effective, and high-impact sales experience with prospective members and participants.
  • Present timely promotions to spark interest and create urgency.
  • Build rapport with individuals from all socio-economic levels and ensure every interaction reflects Y values.
  • Identify and manage objections and share patterns with leadership to improve the experience.
  • Maintain accuracy and compliance with YMCA policies, procedures, and sales standards.
  • Support clerical tasks and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least one year of customer service, sales, or related experience.
  • Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and phone systems.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to resolve routine problems. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to be sensitive and alert to the needs, feelings, and safety of others.
