POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for the general supervision of the members, guests, and participants that utilize the Gymnasium during the assigned hours.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure members accurately sign in and out of the Gymnasium.
- Check member cards periodically to ensure safety of participants.
- Notify Director of Youth Sports with any problems and/or disciplinary action, along with discussing issue with participant’s parent.
- Accurately complete the Unacceptable Behavior Notification form, follow action steps, (24 hr. suspension, Time Out, etc.), and forward form to Director of Youth Sports within 12 hours.
- Ensure participants do not touch, climb, or interfere with any non-open gym equipment.
- Monitor Gymnasium activity to assure:
- Equipment or YMCA property is not mistreated or misused,
- Appropriate behavior and language is used at all times,
- Buddy system of two people is always used whenever a child leaves the Gymnasium.
- Check to see that participants are at least 9 years old or with an adult.
- Responsible for finding gymnasium staff knowledgeable to cover the gym if you need to leave.
- Advance notification of two weeks to Director of Youth Sports of any changes in the work schedule.
- Enforce all other Gymnasium rules as directed.
- Work positively with the Director of Youth Sports, YMCA staff, and community.
- Accurately complete incident report forms and forward to Sports Director within 12 hours.
- Complete timesheets and turn in to Director of Youth Sports on required date.
- Wear YMCA staff shirt and badge for proper identification.
- Provide support for various YMCA special events and fundraisers.
- Assure positive customer service with all staff, members, and guests.
- Maintain proper maintenance and cleanliness of all gymnasium equipment.

Qualifications:
Position will demand individual leadership of the YMCA Gymnasium through instruction, supervision and evaluation of overall program operation.
Education/Experience:
The individual must be at least 18 years of age.
Language Skills:
Must have the ability to read and understand verbal and written instruction. Ability to write correspondence and address issues in a verbal and written format. Ability to speak effectively with staff, members, volunteers and overall general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Must have knowledge of all basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reasoning Ability: Must have adequate skills in understanding oral and written communications to complete assigned tasks. Ability to effectively problem solve and good decision making skills.
