- Assists with the development, organization and implementation of high quality safe aquatics programs.
- Increases member retention through creating personalized member experiences and positive relationships with and among members, staff, and guests.
- Trains, provides guidance to and directs Aquatics Department employees as needed.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of the Lifeguard and Instructor schedules to meet member needs. Ensuring all substitution shifts are filled at all times.
- Scheduled as a swim instructor and lifeguard when needed. Performs responsibilities of respective position descriptions.
- Assists with Aquatics office duties as assigned
- Assists with coordination of pool, facility, program space and equipment use.
- Performs required safety, cleanliness and maintenance check
- Ensures the safety of all members and guests.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Requires working nights and weekends.
- One year related experience in administration, lifeguarding, swim instruction is required.
- Requires ability to professionally and effectively communicate with members, staff and supervisors; maintain confidentiality and exchange accurate information.
- Required Certifications: Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and/or YMCA Swim Lesson Certification
- Preferred Certifications: Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator
- Must demonstrate initiative, strong leadership and communication skills.
