What are the responsibilities and job description for the Zumba Instructor position at YMCA of Central Texas?
We are currently seeking a Zumba Instructor for the Greater Waco YMCA. The Zumba Instructor will lead group Zumba exercise classes. The candidate will provide a safe environment while welcoming, connecting, and supporting members in achieving their fitness goals.

Our organization is home to the largest school age childcare provider in Williamson County as well as health and fitness programs that improve the quality of life for over 45,000 members ranging from preschool to senior citizens.

Morning availability needed
Essential Functions
- Keep current certification through a national certifying association
- Attend all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
- Ensure class is set-up, starts/ends on time and equipment is stored appropriately
- Follow association/branch dress code
- Teach each class as formatted by the Health and Fitness
- Director and maintain agreed upon class attendance minimums
- Shares fitness program information with members, using available tools and resources
- Communicates with members and program participants while building relationships in support of their individual needs
- Identifies and celebrates the successes of members and program participants
- Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must hold an up-to-date group certification
- Must hold a current Zumba/ZIN certification
- Must be reliable with a good attendance record
- Have a good knowledge of fitness and wellness
- Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations
- Be willing to uphold the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire
- Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check
