What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wellness Coach position at YMCA Cape Cod?
PART-TIME POSITION
Position Summary:
Provides excellent service through guidance, support, and motivation to all members, guests, and program participants and maintains cleanliness and organization of the Wellness Center.
Essential Functions:
- Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs.
- Assists members with proper equipment usage and exercise techniques ensuring that participants are performing safe exercises.
- Builds effective relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
- Cleans and maintains Wellness Center equipment on a regular basis.
- Reports equipment problems and concerns.
- Maintains required certifications.
- Attends staff meetings and trainings.
- Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes reports as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18.
- Certifications: CPR, Basic First Aid and AED within 60 days of employment. (YMCA Healthy Lifestyles within one year of employment.)
- At least 6 months of exercise experience in teaching, coaching, or instructing.
- Attend Listen First and Understanding Health Seekers training within 120 days of employment.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to conduct activities relating to personal wellness.
- Ability to lift 50-pound equipment.
