Position Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor Yesway IT server and network infrastructure to ensure optimal system reliability and performance.
- Develop and implement best practice procedures, policies, and programs related to the operation, ongoing support of the technology infrastructure, and the protection of corporate and personal data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues, identifying root causes and ensuring prevention of future issues whenever possible.
- Develop and administer SQL databases to meet business and IT requirements.
- Manage the installation of hardware and software updates to ensure they are fully tested, implemented, and documented.
- Administer the Yesway infrastructure including firewalls, databases, malware protection software, and other processes.
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades to ensure maximum functionality and security within the company.
- Ensure the solution(s) for system backup and recovery are properly documented, functioning properly, and tested regularly.
- Create and maintain a disaster recovery plan.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff.
- Hands-on hardware and software installation and configuration. and
- Independent travel 10% and work after hours, weekend and holidays as needed, periodically assisting, and supporting the store acquisition onboarding process.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Three to five years’ experience in a retail operations technology environment required. retail point of sale experience preferred.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience managing network switching, routing, and firewall solutions in a distributed environment, and experience with Palo Alto, Cortex solutions is a plus.
- Experience with and working knowledge of PCI data security standards, compliance requirements, and the definition and implementation of best practice solutions.
- Experience with telecommunications technologies and carriers including but not limited to DSL/Cable, T1, and Starlink and Fiber.
- Familiarity with storage solutions and protocols, including SAN, NAS, RAID, and file systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills with strong presentation skills.
- Must be able to lift 40lbs and perform physical activities.
- High Level of personal accountability.
- Strong experience managing Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, Azure and Active Directory, and various infrastructure tools for backups, security, and systems monitoring, etc.
- Knowledge of networking protocols, IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall configuration.
- Familiarity with storage solutions and protocols, including SAN, NAS, RAID, and file systems.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and common threats.
- Proficiency with network and systems monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Solar Winds, Arctic Wolf).
- Experience with backup strategies, tools, and disaster recovering planning to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
